CPOC Releases 2015 California Probation Data Dashboard

Statistics Highlight a changing system for both Adults and Juveniles

The Chief Probation Officers of California (CPOC) released its comprehensive statewide 2015 California Probation Data Dashboard.  The dashboard is a tool to share local probation populations and related justice system data in a graphical format.  This public version is meant to provide stakeholders a single view of criminal justice data, compiled from multiple public sources.  By seeing a number of different justice system indicators, users are able to better inform their ideas about relative scale and scope of the work of California County Probation departments.

Gathered in 2015 and foreseen to be updated annually, the dashboard includes county level data on:

  • Probation population trends for adults and juveniles, as well as juvenile hall and camp populations
  • Risk/Needs assessment tools for adults and juveniles
  • Long term county population projections for adults and juveniles
  • Crime rates
  • Arrests of adult and juveniles by crime type
  • Jail populations
