Juvenile Probation Placement Booster Course – Sacramento 2023
In-Person Training
The Juvenile Placement Core Booster course was designed to provide updates for placement probation officers and supervisors who have been in their assignment more than two years and who have already completed the Juvenile Placement Core or Supervisor Core courses prior to 2021 or who have left from and returned to a placement assignment. This 2.5 day booster course will focus on recent updates to placement processes, new mandates and best practices as set forth by California Department of Social Services (CDSS). The course will be a combination of lecture and engaging, practical activities that will assist participants in applicability of the training material. Some of the topics covered are Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) Part IV foster care placement and Title IV-E requirements including but not limited to short-term residential therapeutic programs (STRTPs), child and family team meetings, resource family approvals, family finding and other updated processes, mandates, and resources.
Target Audience: those working in Juvenile Placement for
a minimum of 1 year.
*It is highly recommended that attendees are in
Placement assignment for a minimum of one year before attending
this course*
