This course meets BSCC’s Manager Core Requirement. 

This course is designed to prepare mid-level managers for executive positions in California probation departments. This is a two week academy. Topics to be covered in week one are the following: Leadership in Probation, LPI 360 Assessment, Individual Leadership Styles, Leadership Planning, Project and Change Management, Human Resources and Workforce Planning. Topics covered in week two are the following: Ethics, Evidence-Based Practices and Data-Decision Making, Strategic Planning, Operational Management, Communications & Media, Budget & Fiscal Management and Wellness. 

NOTE: At this time, this class is limited to probation staff ONLY. Howerver, this can include both sworn and non-sworn staff, and support professionals, such as IT and HR.

Week 1: September 11-15, 2023 
Mon to Thur 8:00am to 5:30pm | Fri 8:00am to 12:00pm

Week 2: October 16-20, 2023
Mon 1:00pm-5:00pm | Tues to Thur 8:00am to 5:30pm; Fri 8:00am to 1:00pm

Attendees will also be required to complete up to 5-hours of self-paced learning prior to Week One.
