The Placement Supervising Probation Officer Course is designed for newly assigned Placement Unit Supervisors (within 24 months) and others in a leadership role within probation.  This course will encompass all aspects of the Continuum Care of Reform through the lens of the probation placement process.  Some of the important aspects would include but not be limited to case planning, concurrent planning, family finding, permanency, Title IV-E mandates and information required through state and federal mandates such as the Child and Family Services Review. This course is designed to give supervisors the expertise needed to ensure that their placement unit is in compliance with Division 31 requirements.

Instructors:
Kathy Martinez – Retired Deputy Chief Probation Officer from Santa Clara County Probation. Kathy had a 24-year career with probation also having worked for Santa Cruz and Alameda County Probation Departments prior to her time at Santa Clara County Probation.

​Anna Ruiz – Enjoyed her 32 year career with Orange County Probation prior to her recent retirement in March 2020.  She ended her career as the administrative placement supervisor.  Her duties include RFA, CCR implementation and working with county partners and stakeholders on the county self assessment and system improvement plan.
