IMPORTANT: Due to many counties limiting travel to necessary activities, CPOC is suspending all trainings through the end of March. We will be reassessing how best to get the most critical trainings back on the calendar including but not limited to rescheduling or online opportunities where appropriate. 

This course will provide an understanding of inner working of the media while identifying ways to get stories about your work and department into the media. Topics discussed in this course include how you should address adverse stories involving probation, how to work with your media relations personnel to identify material for public outreach, as well as strategies and tactics in identifying encouraging stories in order to generate compelling narratives to engage local media to cover the stories. This course is for any probation staff at all levels interested in learning how to get positive stories in the media.
