Solano probation officer hailed for training prowess

Simms, who oversees the Juvenile Court Unit for the department, received the award during the recent Chief Probation Officers of California Awards Ceremony. It acknowledges her “dedication and excellence” to ensure that probation professionals receive high-level and effective training.

Simms has been with the department for 19 years, and has been a facilitator for the Chief Probation Officers of California Foundation’s Supervisor Leadership Academy since 2019. Additionally, she co-facilitates the “Engaging Others” training, where she has helped mentor new CPOC Foundation trainers.
