From Shasta County Probation and CPOC Communications.
REDDING, Calif. – June 16, 2026 – Shasta County Probation proudly celebrated an inspiring milestone on Friday as youth at the Juvenile Rehabilitation Facility (JRF) were honored during a joint graduation ceremony for Tri Mountain Academy and River’s Edge Academy (REA).
In total, 10 young people earned their high school diplomas, including two graduates from Tri Mountain Academy and eight graduates from River’s Edge Academy. Surrounded by staff, educators, family members, and supporters, each graduate was recognized for the perseverance, determination, and personal growth that brought them to this significant achievement.
The ceremony was made even more meaningful by heartfelt remarks from one River’s Edge Academy graduate, who shared the profound impact the program had on their life.
“REA was honestly the best thing that ever happened to me. It gave me a reality check and forced me to look at myself and what I’ve been through and grow as a person… you all raised me to be the person I am today and now I’m in a healthier environment. I’ve been sober the entire time I’ve been out, which is a big thing for me… I am truly free.”
The graduate’s words reflected the life-changing influence of education, accountability, treatment, and the unwavering support provided by the dedicated professionals who work alongside youth each day.
“Graduations at our Juvenile Rehabilitation Facility represent far more than the completion of academic requirements—it is a celebration of resilience, growth, and hope,” said Chief Probation Officer Tracie Neal. “It also reflects our commitment to ensuring every young person knows they are supported by a community that believes in their potential and will stand beside them through both challenges and successes.”
Educational achievement is a cornerstone of rehabilitation, providing young people with the knowledge, confidence, and opportunities needed to build brighter futures. Through strong partnerships between Shasta County Probation and its educational providers, youth are encouraged to pursue their goals, overcome challenges, and recognize their potential.
Shasta County Probation extends its heartfelt congratulations to the graduates of Tri Mountain Academy and River’s Edge Academy. We are proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in their communities as they continue their journeys beyond graduation.
