Contra Costa County Celebrates Probation Services Week

Contra Costa County Chief Probation Officer Esa Ehmen-Krause stood before the Board of Supervisors today to proclaim the week of July 20-26 as Pretrial, Probation and Parole Supervision Week.

It’s all about honoring the frontline officers and staff who promote safer communities by combining court-ordered accountability with rehabilitative services. Throughout the week, the Probation Department will spotlight their work reducing crime and recidivism. Probation professionals enforce court mandates while guiding individuals toward resources including mental health care, substance-use treatment, job training, housing support and family services. 

“With over 350 hours of training during their first two years, plus ongoing education, our staff balances accountability with compassion and integrity,” said Ehmen-Krause. “They are public safety heroes, protecting our communities while supporting clients’ long-term success.”
