San Diego County PROBATION — Accountability Through Enforcement

The San Diego County Probation Department conducted two targeted enforcement operations in October, working alongside local and state law enforcement partners to promote community safety, verify compliance with court-ordered conditions, and hold individuals accountable.

In a multi-agency operation targeting high-risk individuals on Post Release Community Supervision and formal probation for domestic violence offenses, teams conducted unannounced visits to approximately 30 individuals across Central, Mid-City, and Southeastern San Diego. The operation resulted in three arrests and the seizure of several prohibited items, including weapons.

In a separate Halloween compliance operation, known as Operation Silent Watch, probation officers conducted unannounced home visits to 15–20 individuals under supervision who had restrictions related to contact with minors and Halloween-related activities. The operation resulted in two arrests, including one involving new felony charges related to child sexual abuse material.

Together, these coordinated efforts demonstrate probation’s critical role in protecting communities through proactive supervision, interagency collaboration, enforcement of court-ordered conditions, and ongoing accountability.
