MARIN COUNTY, Calif​., – September 23, 2026 – The Marin County Probation Department and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office conducted a DUI operation on Friday, September 18, to ensure individuals were compliant with the terms and conditions of their supervised probation. The operation resulted in no arrests and three violations, including possession of vehicle keys and failure to have a required ignition interlock device installed in a vehicle.

DUI operations play an important role in promoting public safety, strengthening partnerships with local law enforcement agencies, and increasing their presence within Marin communities. The operations also help reinforce individual responsibility by ensuring that clients on active probation remain compliant with the terms and conditions of their supervision. The main goal is to reduce recidivism while creating opportunities for growth, accountability, and long-term success.

Probation officers are essential to this work because they balance community safety with supervision, resources, and support that can help individuals make positive and lasting changes.

Results of the operation included:

• 35 individuals were identified for contact
• 26 field contacts were completed
• 3 field contact attempts were made
• 6 individuals were not contacted
• 27 chemical tests were conducted
• 3 violations were identified
• 28 searches were conducted
• 6 ignition interlock devices were verified
