Next Up Aviation Brings Career Exploration to ARISE Youth in San Bernardino County Probation
From San Bernardino County Probation and CPOC Communications.
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – June 30, 2026 – Youth at the San Bernardino County Probation Department’s A Restorative Integration for Successful Engagement (ARISE) facility recently had the opportunity to look beyond the classroom and into the skies during a visit from Next Up Aviation. The hands-on event introduced students to the exciting worlds of aviation and aerospace while exploring future career opportunities through interactive learning experiences.
Participants explored flight simulation, pilot training, aircraft mechanics, and drone building while learning how everyday classroom skills: including problem-solving, communication, and teamwork, apply to real-world careers. The visit gave youth a chance to engage with new technology, ask questions, and imagine themselves in roles they may not have previously considered.
More than just an educational activity, the event reflected SBC Probation’s ongoing commitment to positive youth development. By bringing meaningful educational opportunities into the ARISE facility, #SBCProbation continues working to assist, educate, and coach youth as they build confidence and begin seeing potential futures beyond their current circumstances.
Experiences like this help youth understand that their future is not defined by where they are today. With guidance, exposure, and encouragement, they can begin to see new possibilities and take meaningful steps toward achieving their goals.
