From Placer County Probation

PLACER COUNTY, Calif. – July 6, 2026 –  Youth at the Juvenile Detention Facility recently had the opportunity to participate in a fun, hands-on wellness activity using a Smoothie Bike, made possible through the collaboration of Placer County Office of Education (PCOE) staff and Probation officers.

The event was a tremendous success! Every youth was engaged, eagerly took turns powering the bike to make smoothies, and demonstrated outstanding respect and teamwork throughout the activity. Staff heard countless “please” and “thank yous,” making the event an excellent example of how positive, pro-social programming helps reinforce life skills, healthy choices, and meaningful interactions.

A special thank you to Placer County’s PCOE and Probation staff for making this memorable experience possible and for continuing to create opportunities that encourage growth, engagement, and success for the youth in their care.
