PLUMAS COUNTY, Calif., — July 28, 2026 — Plumas County Chief Probation Officer Keevin Allred has often appeared at Plumas County Board of Supervisors meetings but on July 21 he was in the spotlight. The supervisors recognized Allred for 25 years of service to the county and honored him on his retirement. 

Through more than two decades of public service, Allred’s integrity and dedication have earned the respect and appreciation of the community and the residents of Plumas County, the supervisors said in a resolution thanking him many years of “outstanding service.”

Allred, clearly touched by the accolades, said he was retiring “with a full heart.” “I have nothing but gratitude for my career,” he said.

Allred’s career with Plumas County began in 2001 as a Children’s System of Care community case manager and parent advocate. He worked alongside children, youth and families to provide support, advocacy and access to services during what the supervisors called “challenging times.”

In 2009, Allred joined the probation department as a deputy probation officer. He was professional and compassionate, demonstrating a commitment to public service that led to consistent promotions. 

Allred was appointed acting chief probation officer in 2021 and was soon appointed to the permanent position. Since then he has provided steady leadership, the supervisors said. The probation department was significantly understaffed when Allred assumed leadership; it is now fully staffed, said Board of Supervisors Chair Mimi Hall, who read the resolution.

Allred improved morale and fostered teamwork during his five years as chief probation officer, she said. Numerous members of the department attended his recognition ceremony.

“It’s been an honor to have Keevin Allred as a leader,” said Amanda Meisenheimer, a deputy probation officer.

Beyond his professional responsibilities, the supervisors acknowledged Allred as a devoted husband, father and active member of the Plumas County community. His community involvement and commitment to service helped shape his compassionate and thoughtful approach to leadership and to those served by the probation department, they said.
