The Fresno County Probation Department funds the program as one of its evidence-based strategies in reducing criminal activity. Evidence-based practices refer to programs backed by scientific research to reduce recidivism.

Local community corrections officials, participants’ families and friends, partners who provide additional services for participants and program alumni attended the graduation ceremony.

Graduating participants also had the chance to share a few words about their experience.

“This program definitely had changed me for the better. I’ve taken a multitude of classes such as parenting, life skills ad problem solving, just to name a few. I must say the most rewarding part of the program had to be that it forced me to get clean and stop smoking weed.” said Anthony White, a graduate of the program.
