SACRAMENTO, Calif. – July 2, 2026 –  Sacramento County Probation recently celebrated two inspiring educational milestones at its Youth Detention Facility (YDF), recognizing the hard work and determination of young people committed to building brighter futures.

In partnership with the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE), Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) held a graduation ceremony honoring a student who earned an Associate in Arts degree in Sociology through the Students Obtaining Academic Responsibility (SOAR) program. The graduate celebrated this remarkable achievement alongside family members, educators, and probation staff.

SCOE also recognized four students who earned their high school diplomas. Surrounded by family, teachers, mentors, and probation staff, the graduates celebrated this important milestone before enjoying a catered breakfast with their loved ones.

These achievements reflect the power of education, support, and opportunity to help justice-involved youth reach their full potential. Congratulations to all of the graduates on their well-earned success!
