Sacramento County Probation Received the 2025 Western States Information Network Region 1 Agency of the Year Award

Sacramento, Calif. – April 14, 2026 – The Sacramento County Probation Department received the 2025 Western States Information Network (WSIN) Region 1 Agency of the Year Award, recognizing the Department’s strong use of investigative resources, information-sharing systems, and officer safety tools.
The award reflects Sacramento County Probation’s continued commitment to public safety, coordinated enforcement efforts, and regional collaboration.
As of November 10, 2025, Sacramento County Probation officers conducted 1,840 investigative inquiries and submitted 98 entries into the Regional Information Sharing System Criminal Intelligence Database, resulting in 185 hits. Officers also entered 514 cases into the Regional Information Sharing System Officer Safety Event Deconfliction System, identifying 14 potential conflicts that were safely mitigated.
The Department’s field operations also produced significant results. In 2024, officers conducted approximately 600 field operations, resulting in the recovery of 122 firearms and approximately 6.7 pounds of methamphetamine. As of November 2025, the Department had conducted a comparable number of operations, resulting in the recovery of 127 firearms and approximately 1.8 pounds of methamphetamine.
Officers also utilized the WSIN Equipment Pool, including vehicle tracking devices and cameras, and engaged the WSIN analytical unit to support investigations.
This recognition highlights the dedication, professionalism, and hard work of Sacramento County Probation officers and professional staff, whose efforts continue to strengthen public safety throughout the community.
