Sacramento County – Probation Services Week Commemorates the Work of Probation Professionals
Sacramento County, CA, July 21, 2025 – Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision (PPPS) Week recognizes the critical role that probation, parole, and pretrial officers play in promoting safer communities and supporting justice involved individuals on their journey toward positive change. This year’s annual PPPS week will take place from July 20, 2025 – July 26, 2025.
Today’s probation officers serve as mentors, coaches, and accountability partners, guiding individuals while connecting them with the services and support necessary for success. Their dedication helps reduce recidivism and provides a path toward transformation and successful reintegration into the community.
As part of its ongoing commitment to public safety and community support, the Sacramento County Probation Department continues to expand its reach to the community through several strategies or vessels to include the use of its Probation Outreach Vehicle. In this example, having a mobile resource enables essential services to be delivered directly to individuals in need, including those experiencing homelessness. This approach allows probation officers to meet clients where they are, improving access for those facing barriers while fostering trust and enhancing public safety through stronger community connections. This innovative strategy is driving positive changes in probation by promoting accountability, reducing recidivism, and empowering individuals toward successful reintegration.
“I proudly recognize the dedicated professionals who stand boldly in the frontline of justice and sponsor in rehabilitative services to the community we serve,” Chief Probation Officer Jamal Rowe stated.
As PPPS Week highlights the importance of community-based supervision and intervention, the Sacramento County Probation Department encourages community members to consider joining this rewarding profession.
