Sonoma County Board of Supervisors and Chief Probation Officer Fuchs Recognize Probation Staff During Probation Services Week
SONOMA COUNTY, Calif., — Last week, the Board of Supervisors and Chair Lynda Hopkins recognized the Sonoma County Probation Department during “Probation Services Week” and invited probation staff to share their stories.
The week of July 20–26, 2025, is known as “Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision Week” to recognize the vital role of community corrections professionals in promoting safety, rehabilitation, and second chances. Chief Vanessa Fuchs honored her staff’s dedication and spoke of the positive impact of probation in building safer communities. She also highlighted the recent attack of a lawyer outside the Courthouse in Sonoma County in which Probation staff stepped in and stopped the attacker, potentially saving the lawyer’s life.
