CPOC President’s Statement on Retirement of Chief Allen Nance

Today, Chief Stephanie James, President of the Chief Probation Officers of California (CPOC) released the following statement in response to the announcement of San Francisco Juvenile Chief Probation Officer Allen Nance’s retirement: 

“Chief Nance is an exemplary public servant who oversaw an incredible evolution of juvenile justice in San Francisco, in large part due to his reforms and focus on serving juveniles’ needs in the community with a focus on prevention, rehabilitation and evidence-based programs.  Chief Nance was a constant thoughtful voice within the probation profession and helped drive the positive transformation California has seen in juvenile justice.  His vision and compassion for youth will be greatly missed in his retirement.”
