SB 678 (The Public Safety Performance Incentives Act of 2010) was the first of its kind policy approach in California and made historic and lasting impacts on California’s prison population and the public safety system as a whole. The success of the policy has helped not only impact the state system but also has helped lead the evolution in probation practices and culture. The Evolution of California’s Justice System through SB 678: Creating Safer Communities Through Rehabilitation and Evidence- Based Practices Conference will discuss the success of SB 678 and how its success in California will help charter new territory for California’s justice system.
