The California Juvenile Hearing Overview course includes a review of legislation that led to several changes in the juvenile justice system, and an in-depth overview of the five criteria used to evaluate whether a young person should be transferred to criminal court. The course is designed to provide information that will assist staff in completing comprehensive Transfer Hearing reports for the juvenile court. At the conclusion of the course, staff will have a better idea of the information and documentation needed to support the overall recommendation of the young person either transferring to criminal court or remaining in juvenile court.
