ASPIRE Program Empowers Imperial County Youth Through Leadership, Growth
From Imperial Valley Press.
EL CENTRO, Calif., — August 12,
2025 — The Imperial County Probation
Department’s ASPIRE program is changing the trajectory of
at-promise youth, offering hands-on opportunities that build
confidence, life skills, and hope for the future.
This summer, participants attended a weeklong leadership camp at
YMCA Raintree Ranch, where horseback riding, archery, rock
climbing, water activities, and arts and crafts became tools for
resilience, teamwork, and self-discovery.
“ASPIRE is about more than just keeping youth engaged—it’s about
equipping them with the tools and mindset to succeed,” said
Supervisory Probation Officer Oswaldo Guerrero.
Focused on mentorship, skill-building, and positive pathways,
ASPIRE works to reduce recidivism, strengthen families, and
create safer neighborhoods. The Probation Department recognized
Youth Services staff Marco Rubio, Ryan Breland, Camila Carvalho,
Ruben Flores, Lydia Reyes, and Nathan Sanchez for their
dedication in guiding and inspiring the next generation.
