County Spotlight: Marin County Probation DUI Compliance Operation Strengthens Community Safety

MARIN COUNTY, Calif. – September 9, 2025 – The Marin County Probation Department led a compliance operation on September 4 with a focus on 50 individuals on active supervised probation for repeat DUI offenses. Eight individuals were found in violation of their probation agreements and one arrest was made.
In collaboration with the Marin County Sheriff’s Department, probation officers conducted unannounced home visits, inspected vehicles for ignition interlock devices, searched residences for alcohol and illegal substances, and administered chemical tests, including breathalyzer and oral swab screenings.
Results of the operation include:
- 39 successful contacts
- 10 attempted contacts
- 5 no contacts due to time limitations
- 34 breathalyzer/chemical tests administered
- 0 positive alcohol results
- 8 individuals found in violation
- 37 residences searched
- 11 vehicles searched
- 8 ignition interlock devices verified
- 1 arrest made
The operation was funded through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety. Regular compliance checks are essential to ensure that individuals on supervised probation remain accountable while receiving the support to overcome challenges and work toward rehabilitation.
