Marin County, Calif. – December 3, 2025 –  Fifty individuals on active supervised probation for repeat DUI offenses received compliance checks from the Marin County Probation Department and its partnering agencies on December 2. Eight people were found in violation of their probation agreements and none were arrested. Those found in violation will be scheduled a hearing before Marin County Superior Court to address their matters.

In collaboration with the Marin County Sheriff’s Department and Marin County District Attorney’s Office, probation officers conducted unannounced home visits, inspected vehicles for ignition interlock devices, searched residences for alcohol and illegal substances, and administered chemical tests, including breathalyzer and oral swab screenings.

Marin’s DUI compliance operations are funded through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety. Regular compliance checks are essential to ensure that individuals on supervised probation remain accountable while receiving the support to overcome challenges and work toward rehabilitation.

“This operation reflects our ongoing commitment to public safety and the value of strong partnerships,” said Chief Probation Officer Marlon Washington. When agencies work together toward a common goal, we strengthen trust, ensure compliance, and build a safer environment for the families we serve.”
