Shasta County Probation Officers Commended for Life-Saving Action in the Field

The department is proud to recognize two outstanding team members, DPOs Gabrielle Redelsperger and Kurtis Hult, for their quick thinking and heroic response during an unexpected emergency in the field.

What began as a routine day on duty shifted suddenly when the officers encountered an individual in crisis. Without hesitation, they pulled over, assessed the situation, and administered critical care. Using their training and Naloxone, they successfully saved a man’s life.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude and admiration for Officers Redelsperger and Hult,” said Chief Tracie Neal, Shasta County Probation Chief. “Their quick response and willingness to act without hesitation saved a life. This heroic act reflects the heart of probation work: protecting our communities, helping people and stepping in when it matters most.”
