Deputy Chansavang Oriyavong has served with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office since 2013. Prior to his law enforcement career, he served 4.5 years in the U.S. Army as an infantryman, completing two combat deployments to Iraq. His military background instilled a strong foundation of discipline, resilience, and teamwork. He began his law enforcement service at the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center (RCCC) before transitioning to patrol, where he spent seven years primarily in north Sacramento County. He is currently assigned to the Sheriff’s Homeless Outreach Team (HOT), a specialized unit focused on addressing homelessness through collaboration with community partners. The team responds to complaints, supports patrol operations, engages with local businesses, and connects individuals experiencing homelessness to critical services and resources. Deputy Oriyavong is committed to making a positive, solutions-driven impact in the community each day.
