Chelsey Chappelle brings over 27 years of experience in the field of probation, including more than two decades in leadership roles within California’s community corrections system. She began her career after earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from California State University, Chico, along with an Associate of Arts degree in Communications from Shasta College. Chelsey served her entire career with the Shasta County Probation Department, where she advanced through the ranks from Deputy Probation Officer to Assistant Chief Probation Officer prior to her retirement in 2024. Throughout her career, she managed a diverse range of assignments, including specialized adult sex offender caseloads and juvenile drug court, gaining extensive experience in both adult and juvenile systems. In her leadership roles, Chelsey supervised operations across juvenile institutional settings and adult field services, developing a comprehensive understanding of system practices, challenges, and innovations. As Assistant Chief Probation Officer, she was responsible for overseeing key administrative functions including hiring, training, and policy development, helping to shape organizational standards and workforce development. Chelsey is recognized for her commitment to professional excellence, evidence-based practices, and cross-system collaboration. She brings a practical, real-world perspective to training, with a focus on bridging knowledge, strengthening partnerships, and improving outcomes for justice-involved individuals and the communities they serve.
