The Honorable Denise Hippach is the Supervising Judicial Officer of the Santa Barbara Superior Court and the first African-American to serve as a Superior Court judge in Santa Barbara County. A graduate of the USC School of Law, she was admitted to the bar in 2003 and has since built a wide-ranging career in public service. Her experience includes serving as a prosecutor in Riverside County and in Idaho, working for the Idaho Attorney General’s Office, and holding positions as a panel attorney with the Judicial Council’s indigent appellants program, a staff attorney with L.A. Dependency Lawyers, and Deputy County Counsel for Los Angeles County. Before her appointment to the bench, she was a senior deputy attorney in the Santa Barbara County Counsel’s Office.
