Chief Steve Jackson has over 28 years of experience in the field of community corrections. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work from Azusa Pacific University. Steve began his career in probation in 1998 in Stanislaus County. He promoted through the ranks and became the Assistant Chief Probation Officer in San Joaquin County in 2019.  Chief Jackson was appointed as the Chief Probation Officer for the San Joaquin County Probation Department in March 2020.  He has been married to his wife, Christy, for 29 years and they have two children age 28 (Tyler) and 20 (Ella). They also have two grandchildren, Charlie 4 and Welsey 3.
